Telangana Govt Alleges BRS Gained Rs 41 Crore from Formula E Race
The Telangana government has disclosed details regarding financial transactions linked to the Formula E race organized by Greenco, alleging that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) gained substantial monetary benefits. Officials stated that Rs 41 crore was transferred to the BRS through electoral bonds, reportedly purchased by Greenco and its related entities.
According to government records, these bonds were acquired 26 times between April 8 and October 10, 2022. The transactions have raised questions about the financial links between the race organizers and political entities. The revelations have sparked discussions in political circles, with the opposition seeking clarity on the matter.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has been actively investigating the case. Notices were issued to BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), who appeared for questioning earlier today. However, KTR left the premises after authorities denied his legal counsel entry to accompany him during the interrogation.
Officials from the ACB are reportedly considering summoning KTR for further questioning as part of their ongoing probe.
